Why search for words containing letters?
Some letters demand to be played. When your rack holds a Q, Z, X, or J, you do not need a word that starts with it — you need any word that contains it, ideally before your turn ends. This finder searches all 270,000+ words in the Kipi dictionary for your sequence in any position, which is also how you solve puzzles with fixed middle letters and how writers hunt for patterns.
Try ZZ for a famously short list, QU for Q-words that carry their U anywhere, or a rare pair like MB to see how English hides letter combinations in unexpected places. For edge-anchored searches, use Words That Start With or Words That End With.
Tips
- Rare pairs give short lists. ZZ, XJ, and Q without U are tiny; common pairs like TH or ER are enormous — add a length filter.
- Dump your worst tile. Search the letter you most need to play and pick the shortest match that fits the board.
- Sequence order matters. QU and UQ are different searches; the letters must appear in the order you typed, side by side.
- Letters anywhere, not scattered. This tool needs the letters touching. For scattered letters in any order, use the Word Finder.

Those tools anchor the letters to one edge of the word. This one finds the sequence in any position — beginning, middle, or end — so the lists are bigger and better for hunting words that contain a specific letter combination.
