Scrabble tips

Small habits that win Scrabble games on a 15×15 board.

Save blanks for bingos

Enter ? for a blank tile. Blanks score zero, so spend them on 7-tile bingos worth the 50-point bonus — not on short words.

Play the premium squares

Starts with, ends with, and contains filters help you land words on double and triple letter and word squares.

Spend the big tiles

Q and Z are worth 10 points, J and X worth 8, K worth 5. A short word that dumps the Q on a premium square often beats a long word of one-point tiles.

Track the 100 tiles

A Scrabble set has exactly 100 tiles. Knowing which high-value tiles are still unseen tells you whether to play safe or fish for a bingo.

Scrabble finder FAQ

Answers about legal plays, blank tiles, scoring, and the Scrabble word list.

What does the Scrabble word finder return?

It finds legal Scrabble words you can build from the letters on your rack, checked against a Scrabble word list in the NASPA tradition. Turn on “Use every tile” to hunt for 7-letter bingos — playing all seven tiles earns a 50-point bonus.

Can I use blank tiles?

Yes. Enter ? for each blank tile — a standard Scrabble set has 100 tiles including two blanks. A blank can stand in for any letter, but it scores zero points.

Is using a Scrabble cheat allowed?

For casual games, a word finder is a great learning aid and settles disputes about valid plays. In NASPA tournament play, outside help is not allowed — practice with the finder, then play fair at the board.

What is a bingo in Scrabble?

A bingo is using all 7 tiles from your rack in a single turn, worth a 50-point bonus on top of the word score. That is why high-value tiles like Q and Z (10 points) or J and X (8 points) are so prized by bingo hunters.
