1How to play
- Guess the 5-letter word in 6 tries. Type with your keyboard or tap the on-screen keys, then press Enter.
- Green means the letter is correct and in the right spot.
- Yellow means the letter is in the word but in the wrong spot.
- Gray means the letter isn’t in the word at all.
- Win the round by turning all five tiles green. Then hit New Game for a fresh word — play forever.
2Tips to win more games
- Start with a vowel-heavy word. Openers like ADIEU, AUDIO, or RAISE test the most common letters fast. Follow with a consonant-heavy word like STORM to cover new ground.
- Don’t repeat gray letters. Every guess should test as many new letters as possible until you have strong clues.
- Watch for double letters. If a letter shows yellow twice in different spots, the answer may contain it twice — words like LLAMA and EERIE love to hide doubles.
- Use your yellows deliberately. Move a yellow letter to a completely new position each guess instead of shuffling it one slot over.
- When stuck, think in word families. If you know the word ends in -IGHT or -OUND, list the possible first letters (L, M, N, R, S…) and test them one per guess.
