1How to play

• The grid holds 6 words: 3 reading across and 3 reading down, all tangled together in a waffle shape. Every letter is in the grid — just in the wrong place.
• Swap any two letters: tap a letter, then tap a second letter, and they trade places.
• Green means the letter is in exactly the right spot. Leave greens alone.
• Yellow means the letter belongs in that word, but in a different spot.
• Gray means the letter isn’t in that word at all.
• Solve all 6 words to finish. Swaps are unlimited — but the fewer you use, the more stars you earn: 10 swaps or fewer is a perfect 5-star waffle.

2Tips to solve the waffle in fewer swaps

• Work the crossings first. Letters where an across and a down word cross belong to two words at once — one good swap there can fix two words.
• Follow the yellows. A yellow letter is already in the right word, just the wrong spot. Swap it within that same word before trying letters from other words.
• Never move a green. Greens are locked in place — build every swap around them.
• Mind the duplicates. If a letter shows up twice, one may be yellow while its twin is gray. The color counts always add up per word.
