The short version

• No accounts, no signup for the tools or games.
• We never sell your personal information.
• Your game stats and streaks are stored on your own device.
• The only name that ever leaves your device is one you choose to put on a winners board — and you can remove it anytime.

What is stored on your device

Games and tools save things like streaks, scores, and word definitions in your browser's local storage so the site remembers you between visits. This stays on your device. Clearing your browser data deletes it.

Winners boards (optional)

Some games offer an optional winners board. If you choose to join, the name or initials you enter and your win counts are stored on our server and shown publicly on that game's board. If you never join, nothing is sent. You can remove yourself from a board at any time from the same game page.

Word of the Day email

If you sign up for the Word of the Day email, we store your email address with our email provider (Buttondown) and use it only to send that daily email. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics to understand which tools people use so we can improve them; it sets cookies and reports anonymous usage statistics. We show ads through Google AdSense, which may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your Google account settings or at youronlinechoices.com.

Dictionary lookups

When you tap a word for its definition, the word is sent to Wiktionary or the Free Dictionary API (dictionaryapi.dev) to fetch the meaning. No personal information is attached to those requests.
